He made his first theatrical film appearance by playing the character named Capt. Rakesh Bhavnani in the 2004 Hindi-language coming-of-age war-drama film, Lakshya, whose lead cast comprised of Hrithik Roshan, Amitabh Bachchan, and Preity Zinta. The plot of the movie is set against a fictionalized backdrop of the 1999 Kargil War and the film received much critical acclaim from the audience.
From 2004 to 2005, Vipul Gupta appeared as Drone Keshab, Arindum, and Deboshree’s older son and Dweep’s husband, in the television thriller drama series, K. Street Pali Hill. However, he was later replaced by actor Vikas Sethi.
He portrayed the character of Anand Zoravar Shergil, Shraddha’s brother, in the television soap opera, Ek Nanad Ki Khushiyon Ki Chaabi… Meri Bhabhi, from 2013 to 2014.
In 2020, he brought to life the character of Jagat Singh, Kamla’s brother, in the Hindi-language biographical period action film, Tanhaji, which starred Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, and Kajol.
