The Will & Grace revival has been canceled. It will end following Season 3.
After a total of 11 seasons, eight under the first run and three under the revival, Will & Grace is saying good-bye. Deadline broke the news today the NBC comedy will launch its final season at the beginning of 2020.
“We think of the Will & Grace reboot episodes the way Karen Walker thinks of martinis – 51 is not enough, 53 is too many. That is why, after consulting with the cast, we all have decided this will be the final season of Will & Grace,” show creators Max Mutchnick, David Kohan and James Burrows shared in a joint statement.

Their message continued to explain further the choice, as well as praise the cast.
“They say you can’t go home again, but we did. And now, three seasons and 52 episodes later, we’re even more proud of something we never thought we’d get a chance to do again. We have had a once-in-a-lifetime experience twice. And for that, we owe a double debt of gratitude to NBC, this show’s supportive and caring home since day one. It’s been the highlight of our careers to write for and direct four incredible artists who we consider to be the finest and funniest ensemble sitcom cast of all time Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Megan Mullally, and Sean Hayes,” the statement read.
It is never easy to say good-bye, which is why everyone involved with Will & Grace is happy to give fans time to adjust to the news. The revival excessed expectations beyond belief, but it was never intended to be a long-running revival. After all the talented cast and crew are all very busy with other projects.

Will & Grace ended its original run in 2006. Ten years later, Jack, Karen, Will, and Grace were back together again. Although ratings soared during the first season, the second season saw a significant drop in viewership.
Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, Eric McCormack, and Megan Mullally have all shared messages thanking fans for the opportunity to play these iconic characters again. They have also made it clear they intend to enjoy their last season together and hope the viewers do as well.
